The Beginning of the Journey to Change the World

Signal School, Naka School, Great Cleanliness Campaign, and Project Revitalization – These are ideas that dream of changing the world. These ideas were born from the fundamental energy of Samarth Bharat Vyaspeeth.

Bringing children of beggars from the streets into the mainstream education system is not just an achievement of the Signal School, but the manifestation of the fundamental thought “May all be happy, may all be free from illness.” The innovative idea behind Naka School is to provide skill-based training to unskilled construction laborers, who, while fulfilling the dream of building people’s homes, are themselves living as homeless and displaced.

The concept of the Great Cleanliness Campaign was realized by halting the unscientific disposal of waste and transforming it into useful compost. The idea behind this is to break the chain of five elements — earth, water, fire, air, and sky — that have created the universe.

Recognition Received for Efforts

Samarth Bharat Vyaspeeth is currently running five projects in Thane city, all of which are affiliated with the Thane Municipal Corporation. As a social organization, instead of establishing a separate platform, Samarth Bharat Vyaspeeth acknowledges the existence of the democratic system and works to make the existing system more constructive.

At the government level, officers, staff, and elected representatives are busy from morning till evening. They lack the capacity and time to think outside the box. At such times, someone has to take up this work. Samarth Bharat Vyaspeeth is doing exactly that, and today all of its projects are emerging as model projects at both state and national levels.

The pattern of Samarth Bharat Vyaspeeth’s Nirmalya Project has been adopted for managing Nirmalya (ritual waste) at the Kumbh Mela in Nashik and Ujjain, as well as at the twelve Jyotirlingas in Maharashtra. The Signal School project was declared by the Chief Minister of Maharashtra as a model for bringing street children into the mainstream education system during the legislative session. The Nirmalya and Green Waste Management project received the national SKOCH Good Governance Award.
